Lucky 13

february_004.jpgLife is fun with a 13 month old in the house.  Ray Ray is a girl on the go.  She's happiest when she's outside exploring.  The kids and I have started walking for close-by errands, and this is definitely her favorite part of the day.  Here are 13 of her favorites:

  1. food - teddy grahams

  2. time of day - tie between breakfast and bathtime

  3. game - hide and seek with Ethan

  4. book - zoo animals

  5. activity - eating

  6. Rachelandcousins_008.jpgsound - her squeaky shoes

  7. toy - her cozy coupe

  8. person - mommy

  9. place in the house - tie between her closet and the stairs

  10. place to go - library

  11. comfort object - pink blankie

  12. drink - water

  13. song - I love to pat the Bible

This month she ditched the bottle, got to meet a new cousin, went to the zoo for the first time, discovered the shoe polish in the very back corner of my mom's closet (click on the picture of her in the green onesie for a better look), added a few words to her vocabulary ("hide" being her favorite), played with a lot of friends, chipped a front tooth, ate her weight in snacks, learned to kick a soccer ball, and became very anxious around strangers (i.e. clings to me for dear life any time we're around a new face...or an old face...basically anyone that isn't me...at one point I thought she had actually permanently attached herself to my shoulder).

  1. OK, I have to do this....13 things that Rachel doesn't like.
    1. the word "no"
    3. to be asked to eat quickly
    4. an open door
    5. saying good-by to Mommy or Daddy
    6. to be treated as if she can't do anything and everything that anyone else is doing, mindless of any age difference
    7. having her nose wiped
    8. sitting still or being quiet in church
    9. being ignored
    10. being in a room by herself, unless she's asleep
    11. hairbows that she can't pull out of her hair easily
    12. being put in her booster chair and Nana's and finding out that food is not there waiting on her
    13. dogs - any king, any color, any size

She is a joy to be around and her smile can light up an entire room. We are so blessed to have Rachel in our life.

    We love you RayBug.

  2. okay nana's list makes me feel better. Except for the dog phobia, ava is JUST like that! Rachel is the 3rd cutest little girl I've ever seen! (sorry my 2 must come first even if I really think they tie!) I love your updates on the kids...You will be glad you wrote all this down later. SHE IS SO CUTE and I know I write that every time but so what..it needs to be said often.

  3. p.s. ava is going through serious mommy needs lately too...I took her to the next class up this past sunday and she cried for me for 15 minutes before a friend came in and held to and calmed her down.
:( She doesn't like it when anyone comes near her and tries to hold her..arrrgghhh!
