Well, we had a verbal breakthrough yesterday - Ethan's (approximate) 8 word vocabulary grew to 11! He got to hang out with Jack yesterday at the park, and apparently that spurred on the talking. When Clay got home last night, he asked Ethan if he had played with Jack, and he said, "Ack!" Close enough! Since Jack still refers to Ethan as "Mickey," I suppose it's fine to not get it exactly correct. So Ack, Mickey says hello.
So that's the scoop from around here. I'm sure he'll wake up one morning and be talking about everything. And then when he's three I'm sure there will be a day when I'm wishing he was 18 months old again and only knew a few words. :) But for today, we're rejoicing!
(Had to get a picture of Josie in here because she's just so sweet - she really liked the park, too!)
Kellen loves to walk around the house chanting "Da-ey! Ma-ey! Bo-ey!" (Daddy, Mommy, Bonnie). Anyway, congrats Ethan on your new words! We think "Reveille" should be next. Or "Whoop." We love you!

Congrats Ethan...new words are fun!
ReplyDeleteClay is getting jealous of all of the Starr-Davis activities...ok, so it's really Clay's mom who is jealous! But, I'm glad you guys are having fun...even though we're across the ocean from you. Maybe we can all live in the same neighborhood one day?
Love, the Kailua Kennedys...including Clay with "MELLLMO" on his diaper
(I realize the fact that your husband and my son have the same name, which can get confusing...but it's Clay Kennedy with the Elmo diaper, not Clay Starr :) )
Also, added 'backpack' this morning...sounds like 'back-ack'.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kat, for clarifying which Clay. My diapers have Grover on them :)
We have that same toothbrush!!! That is so cool that he is saying so much! They seem so much bigger and like little people instead of babies when they start saying so much!
ReplyDeleteNow Jack and Ethan can have all sorts of conversations about Sesame Street characters! (Jack's favorite topic at the moment)
ReplyDeleteLisa, He's freaking brilliant! Way to go! I'm so proud of Ethan!
