On Texas soil

Clay, the kids and I were very fortunate to be at the airport tonight welcoming home Clay's brother, Nathan, from a 7 month deployment with the Navy.  The last time we saw him was Memorial Day weekend 2009, so we were just a bit excited and anxious!  I made a poster to take to preschool today and all of the kids signed their name to it (the little kids just put their thumbprint on it - so sweet), and then we made another one welcoming Uncle Nathan back home.  He only gets to stay two weeks, but we feel very honored that we were able to hug his neck and thank him in person for his service.  It was so awesome watching complete strangers come up to him in the airport and shake his hand and thank him for what he's doing.  And the elderly man who was retired military and shaking Nathan's hand got me all teary-eyed.  Nathan - we are VERY proud of you and feel very blessed to call you our hero.

  1. It makes me want to cry to know that strangers would come up to him and shake his hand. What a well-deserved honor. God bless your brother-in-law and all the men and women who serve our country.
